I understand Jagex is also responsible for OSRS

Both games are fantastic. I say all of this as someone who played a TON of RS3, was comp’d, and also did all of its articles. Frankly the most important reason I switched is because I felt taken advantage of. I was getting really frustrated with all of the guaranteed upgrades at RuneFest getting delayed and ultimately shelved. I was getting really frustrated playing out of a period where we obtained four match updates per month, to 2 match updates a month, to one game update a month, to RS gold only ninja fixes in a month with purposeful game updates after every 3 weeks. It seems really bad to play a game where the devs are dishonest about what the expectations should be, and how that gets perpetuated for many years now.

I know Jagex is also accountable for OSRS, so it feels a little weird saying”I abandoned Jagex’s RS3 to get Jagex’s OSRS due to Jagex.” However, the OSRS dev team can give realistic expectations for updates, doesn’t miss deadlines, and is plugged into the community.

All game developers”miss” some kind of”deadlines” because project plans change often within this industry. By way of instance, The OSRS pursuit A Kingdom Divided was originally planned to be published this season but is now delayed to”the first half of 2021″. Don’t say OSRS doesn’t miss deadlines. Yeah. A worldwide outbreak occurred. Find me another instance from if there was not a worldwide pandemic? Big issue is it had been hauled also. You’re right that it happens frequently in the industry, but it occurs an undesirable amount in RS3.

There’s a laundry list of all RS3 updates which were delayed, scrapped, etc. spanning back over the last five years… that frankly I am convinced is better outlined with an present article on this subreddit. They are inclined to just not communicate these items also. It is a huge point of frustration for the playerbase. It’s a literal meme on this subreddit. This doesn’t even factor in the way updates that DO get released often times leave players thinking”was that this tested in any way?” (example: ripper demon familiars, omegalul).

I was a comp’d RS3 participant. I still like the sport. This isn’t an OSRS vs RS3 position, this is just a”RS3 continually fucks up buy RuneScape gold their upgrade schedule and it is incredibly upsetting” stance.
